BTEC Sports Qualifications Level 2
The course also provides the young people with an opportunity to gain valuable life skills in leadership, organisation and communication through sports leadership and coaching local primary schools as part of our SMS community sports programme.
A key aspect of the course is to motivate, encourage and inspire young people to achieve using sports as our key motivator.

Who is the course aimed at?
- Pupils who do not engage in mainstream education.
- Pupils who will struggle to gain 5 A*-C grades.
- Disruptive students in their current main stream setting.
- Young people currently registered in SEN, MLD or EBD facilities.
What will the young people gain?
The programme is available through out a number of various courses to suit your schools and young people needs, they are as follows:
- BTEC Certificate ( 15 Credits, 1 GCSE)
- BTEC Extended Certificate ( 30 Credits, 2 GCSE’s)
- BTEC Diploma ( 60 Credits, 4 GCSE’s)
- 1st 4 Sport Level 1 – Principles of Coaching, this is nationally recognised FA sports coaching qualification to introduce young people to coaching football and organising football events.
- They will also gain valuable work experience in a sports coaching environment at our site through out their BTEC and leadership course.
